Every now and then we take on something out of the norm. This belongs to a customer who had brought a piece in to be refinished and saw that we did, on occasion, restore automobiles. I have been painting for over 20 years but lost interest in doing body work. I decided to take the job on though, and after 90 hours of sanding and rubbing, remembered just how much I love my day job! It turned out really nice. I used all PPG materials, Deltron line.

st step: clean, disassemble, sand, prep and seal with DP40 (non sanding epoxy sealer).
nd step: prime with K36 (high build sandable primer) sand and re prime
rd step: 3 coats of paint DBC 9700 black, 2 coats of clear, DCU 2021
th step: wetsand w/1000 grit and repeat step 3
th step: wetsand w/1200 grit, wetsand w/1500 grit, wetsand w/2000 grit
th step: buff and polish
